Under the direction of the Director of Nutritional Programs, the Regional Nutrition Manager is responsible for the overall guidance, leadership, management, and implementation of Dietitian Services to assure quality nutritional programs across the region. Performs duties and responsibilities in a cost and effective manner consistent with our mission, vision, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Assesses and improves regional performance through established quality improvements procedures and continuously seeks improvement opportunities for the quality of nutrition care.
Effective written and verbal communications skills with peers, patients/families, interdisciplinary team members.
Maintains state dietetics licensure and CDR registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Responsible for managing Regional Dietitian Services:
2.1 Supervises daily and monthly staffing levels across the region to assure levels are within targeted guidelines to efficiently utilize allocated resources.
2.2 Assesses through the hiring process basic qualifications, competencies of coworkers, and continuously assure that co-workers model the Mercy mission, vision, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
2.3 Implement and continuously monitor nutritional programs across the region to ensure quality goals align for achievement within Ministry Quality & Safety goals.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university. Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience, approved or accredited by The Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Licensure: Registered Dietitian (RD) and Licensed in the State of Missouri.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical dietetics experience beyond completion of clinical training. A majority of the clinical work experience must have taken place in a large acute care hospital. Majority of work experience in a large hospital and in area of specialization (e.g. pediatrics, adult critical care, ambulatory specialty, general rehabilitation or medicine/surgery area). Experience supervising dietetic interns or other students. Evidence of mentoring other dietitians. Strong academic & applied background in clinical nutrition for outpatient, acute and post-acute care setting. Expertise and knowledge in application of medical nutrition therapy principles.

Preferred Education: Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Clinical Nutrition, or other health care field.
Preferred Licensure:
Preferred Experience: Supervisor or Leadership experience preferred, Program implementation experience preferred.
